We are pleased to be able to announce that the next Vicar of Abergavenny and Ministry Area leader for Abergavenny and Govilon will be Fr John Connell, Parish Priest of St Augustine’s, Rumney, and Area Dean of Bassaleg. The announcement, along with further details about Fr John will be available on the Diocese of Monmouth website.
Bishop Cherry, who chaired the interview panel, is delighted that Fr John will be remaining in the diocese and bringing his considerable gifts and experience to the churches of Abergavenny and Govilon.
The members of the interview panel are also delighted that Fr John will be joining us and wish to add our congratulations to him on his appointment. We look forward to welcoming him to Abergavenny and Govilon sometime after Easter. We are certain that he will have much to offer as the area’s Ministry Leader, and anticipate exciting and fruitful times for the churches as he takes up his leadership role among us.
