Gwent Federation of  Women’s Institute  will give thanks for its 95th Anniversary with a Service at the Priory Church at 2pm on February 20th.

The Gwent Federation planted a snow drop walk in 2011 to mark its 90th Anniversary following a service in the Priory Church.

During the week of January 18th -25th the Christian Churches will share in worship daily.

The week culminates with a service at the Priory Church at 12noon on January 25th.

Monday 18th: 12noon URC Castle Street

Tuesday 19th :12noon Methodist Church, Castle Street

Wednesday 20th:12noon  Salvation Army, Victoria Street

Wednesday 20th: 7.30pm Youth Event at Holy Trinity, Baker St.

Thursday 21st , 7pm Baptist Church (opposite War Memorial)

Saturday 22nd, 3pm Our Lady & St Michael RC Church, Pen-y-Pound

Lent Preachments

*To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom Feb 14th with The Bishop
*To respond to human need by loving service Feb 21st with  Revd Canon Carol Wardman, Church in Wales Bishops’ Officer for Church & Society

-Canon Mark Soady will preach on Mission & Evangelism on Feb 28th

*To teach, baptise and nurture new believers March 6th with  Deacon Sarah Gillard-Faulkner, Sub Prior at Christchurch, North Street.

*To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation March 13th  with Revd Canon  Aled Edwards, CYTUN General Secretary

*To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth March 20th with Huw Thomas, Head of Office, Christian Aid Wales
The services of Evensong starts at 6pm

Canon Mark Soady our Vicar and Prior was at the Vatican for the Feast of the Epiphany while Canon Andrew Willie and Canon Roger Williams celebrated the Feast here at the Priory.

Fr Mark saw the Feast celebrated in style with Camels, horses, bands and more in St Peter’s Square.
