The next Monastic day will be on February 29th.
We have decided not to have a Day in January as at the start of our Vicar’s new ministry we are taking the opportunity of looking at the Monastic Day. Do they work for people? How can they better pervade the life of the parish? Is a ‘Day’ the right way of doing it?
If you have any thoughts on these questions, if so please let us know. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The idea of the Monastic Day is based on the church having been a Benedictine Priory prior to the dissolution of the monasteries in the middle ages.
There is much that we can learn from the way of life, from the Rule of Benedict. The Monastic Days give you chance to spend some quiet time with good , and many find it spiritually uplifting.
Copies of the Rule of Benedict and other titles about the Benedictine Rule can be purchased from the Tithe Barn.
